My Thoughts on Red vs. Blue
Leave Comments
By using all the information I have on all of the Red vs. Blue series I have come to a few conclusions.
Here I will start with a time-line but because I do not know all the exact dates I will just number the events in order.
1. The War with the Covenant Begins.
2. Project Freelancer is started to help end the war faster.
3. Project Freelancer Obtains the Alpha. They Begin experimentation on it.
4. The Alpha begins to fragment. Current known A.I.s: Alpha (Church), Beta (I think Tex), Gamma (Decit), Delta (Logic), Epsilon (Memory/Sanity), Sigma (Creativity), Omega (Rage).
If the freelancer program used every greek letter from Alpha to Omega then there would be 28 A.I. if you include the obsolete greek letters. (24 without)
5. Project Freelancer moves into its next phase. The begin to take the best soldires and run A.I. tests on them.
When they are put into action the A.I.s begin to convince the Freelancers that they need the Alpha. The A.I. want to reunite with their orginal Brain.
6. (In Dispute) A.I. Beta (Tex) is an expierment run by the program to see if an A.I. can work as a stand alone entity. Later (after the attempt to secure the Alpha.) Tex is given Omega as an experiment to see if two A.I.s could work together in the same body.
7. A group of Freelancers try to break into Command to free the Alpha. They fail.
The Alpha is taken from command and sent to Training as a private (Church). (If this is true then it would have been easy for the Project head to implant false memories into both Alpha and Beta (Church and Tex). Nether one could have real memories anyway. Giving them shared memories made them more beliveable as humans. The relationship the had was entirely fictional.)
Then he was sent to Sidewinder (I really don't know if this is true. It could be a implanted memory. It may have been done intentionaly to show why Church was sent to a worthless base (Blood Gulch))
After Tex (Beta) Kills all the blues, Church (Alpha) is sent to Blood Gulch to remain hidden.
8. The events of Blood Gulch Cronicles happen. The only major loophole i'm ignoring is the 1000 years in the future thing. Obviously this no longer applies. All the Freelancers are still alive and the war is still not over. It makes for some good comedy but does not work with the new story.
9. The events of Out of Mind and Recovery One happen.
10. Fourteen months later the incident at Outpost 17-B (Valhalla) happens. The ship takes a year to crash after the explosion because Tex keeps using Wyomings Time loop to make sure they all don't die.
The ship the crashes at 17-B and the resident blues go to plunder the spoils. They take Tex's body to Blue base. (Tex's body contains her and Omega. Since Junior is now probably dead Tex no longer must work with Omega.)
Tex and Omega (Both being A.I.s) begin to use the resident blues bodies to fight each other. Omega tries to escape and find a more suitable host to relaunch his galactic domination plan but Tex Destroys all of the Com Towers.
Tex and Omega then proceed to kill each other (Using the blues) untill all the blues are dead. (Omega may have gone and freed Gamma to get an advantage.)
The reds come to investigate and discover the dead blues. Before they knew what had happend Tex and Omega had taken over thier bodies and the same thing happend again. The red private found later managed to get away after the Meta showed up.
The Meta arrives to claim not only invisability and time-shift equipment but also 3 A.I.s (Beta, Gamma, and Omega). (This would also explain why Tex is not at 17-B in episode 14, she was taken by the Meta.)
Omega and Tex try to fight him but he appeals to Omega (Probably by telling him that his is trying to steal the Alpha. Omega would never pass up this kind of power.) Gamma may still have been traped so it would have been easy for the Meta to obtain him.
Tex could also have been easily pursaded. If she thought she could take control of Maine's/Meta's body she might have jumped into him. Then realizing that she was sharing the body with about 5 other A.I.s. she may have realized then that she herself was an A.I. (Beta) and joined forces with the Meta to steal/reunite the Alpha.
The only problem I could see with this is that Tex would probably put the pieces together and name Church as another A.I. (Though she may not have called him the Alpha.)
11. Trailer - The Recovery agents show up to check the bases and are killed by the Meta. I have been looking into the meaning of Meta and it can mean many things, including: "after", "beyond", "with", "adjacent", or even "Goal". The word that seems to make the most sense in this case is Goal. We are the Goal. Meaning (We) The A.I. (Are) are trying (the Goal) to become one.
We know that the A.I. are basicly useing the body of Maine to obtain their goals. Maine is no longer in control, he may not even be alive. South Caroline didn't function very long with 2 A.I.s and Maine has around 6 now. (7 after taking Delta later on.)
12. Chapter 1 - The series acctually begins and Pvt. Jenkins(?) is taken in for questioning. Washington says the line "More than you know." refering to the fact that he wants revenge on the heads of Project Freelancer for messing with his life and hurting the Alpha and on South for shooting him.
13. Chapter 2 - Wash meets Sister, Sarge, and Lopez. Gets blue relocation orders.
14. Chapter 3 - Wash meets Caboose, the Meta begins to follow them.
15. Chapter 4 - Wash meets Church. There is no immediate evidence to show he knows what Church really is but there is the line "How would a person..." after Caboose says that Church dated Tex. (Impling that Wash already knows that Tex is an A.I.)
The Meta sends the false message to Red base, Sarge goes on the move. South reappears with Delta.
